Horizontal skills training

The Capacity Building action of the IBTIKAR project is composed of different steps, starting with a general training to develop Horizontal skills. The training is targeting both academic and administrative staff at Libyan beneficiaries universities, and aims at strenghtening the transversal skills of staff members, such as communication, critical thinking, proposal writing, financial and administrative management, research project management, project management tools and more.

The Horizontal skills training is built on two main assets: a full training week in presence and a number of online courses and webinars delivered in a synchronous and asynchronous way. The number of trainees from partner universities is about 80 from 11 institutions, with about 15% of women.

Online Courses

To complement the training week in presence, two online courses were designed and delivered by professors from the University of Salento:

  • English skills

  • Digital tools for research

Both courses were built to strengthen the competences of trainees in working on research proposals and funded projects, including elements of digital innovation and knowledge on research programs.

The courses are available on the UNIMED Learning platform: www.learn/uni-med.net
