WP3
Vertical Capacity Building Action: from Europe to Libya lead by Bogazici University (BU)
Based on the results of WP1 and WP2 and following the recommendations of the shared Action Plan, WP3 will enforce the capacities of both Academic Staff and Administrative Staff by providing a consistent training and capacity building action sharing knowledge by the European Partners.
The Capacity Building action includes:
• horizontal skills training for Academic and Administrative staff.
• advanced thematic skills training for Academic staff.
• Administrative staff training through study visits and training weeks.
• Estimated Start date: 01/01/2022
• Estimated End Date: 01/08/2022.
• T3.1 – Horizontal skills training for all: Academic and Administrative staff.
• T3.2 – Advanced Thematic skills training for Academic staff.
• T3.3 – Advanced Thematic skills training for Administrative staff.
Tasks
T3.1 – Horizontal skills training for all: Academic and Administrative staff
• Horizontal skills (soft skills, ICT skills, Research Management, English Language) for all the Administrative and Academic staff of the involved Libyan Universities • Thematic training for Research and Administrative Staff on European and International funding programmes and how to access them, i.e. proposal writing and networking:
• Funding opportunities: European Union programmes.
• Capacity building activities in Libya or relocated in Tunisia: Training of all Libyan partners by trainers coming from all the EU involved partners.
T3.2 – Advanced Thematic skills training for Academic staff
• Advanced thematic training on contents and methods for Research activities/PhD programmes, in the specific field of Environmental Studies, for the Academic staff coming from more advanced Libyan Universities.
• Capacity building activities in Europe (Italy): 6 academic staff per university will be selected (total of 36) and will receive 7 full days of training benefiting from trainers coming from all the EU involved partners. Visit to relevant EU research centers.
T3.3 – Advanced Thematic skills training for Administrative staff
– Advanced thematic training on how to manage Research Centers/PhD programmes for the Administrative staff coming from more advanced Libyan Universities.
– Capacity building activities in Europe (Italy): 6 administrative staff per university will be selected (total of 36) and will receive 7 full days of training benefiting from trainers coming from all the EU involved partners. Visit to relevant EU research centers!
EXPECTED DELIVERABLE/RESULTS/OUTCOMES
3.1 Horizontal skills training for all performed
• Training materials and report for the Horizontal skills training of the Administrative and Academic staff of the involved Libyan Universities.
• Due date: 30/04/2022
3.2 Advanced Thematic skills training for Academic staff report
• A report on the advanced thematic training on how to manage Research Centers/PhD programmes for the Academic staff coming from more advanced Libyan Universities.
• Due date: 31/08/2022
3.3 Advanced Thematic skills training for Administrative staff report
• A report on the advanced thematic training on contents and methods for management for the Administrative staff coming from more advanced Libyan Universities.
• Due date: 31/08/2022
